Preventive
Maintenance on Aire-Nature/Aire-Conforma Mattresses:
1. Untie and unroll mattress. Unzip top cover. Remove disposable foam if still inside cover (Aire-Nature only).
2.
Examine
cover and staph-check (heavy-duty gray bottom cover material) for
tears, rips, and holes. Duct
tape and vinyl repair adhesives are suggested for repair of tears.
Examine each individual air cell for puncture damage.
3.
Wash
covers and inside air cells with soft cloth moistened with neutral
detergent soap or 1% bleach mixture to disinfect.
Rinse with hot water and dry thoroughly. Covers can be washed in washing machine.
Air drying is recommended, but short periods of tumble drying
at temperatures up to 266°
F. are permissible.
4.
Make sure CPR panel is installed, and plug the unit into an AC
outlet.
5. Turn the unit on and put control at high (12 cm H2O pressure). Make sure the pilot light illuminates and the motors begin to hum. The mattress should inflate in approximately 50 minutes.
6.
Examine all internal air hoses, tie down, and cell connectors
for leaks and breaks; when almost full, examine cells for non-uniform
inflation.
7.
Open the control panel zipper and remove vinyl and foam
covers. Examine
electrical connections to control unit and motor connections.
8.
Once the mattress is fully inflated, turn the control to off
position. Make sure the
mattress maintains inflation level even after power is
disconnected.
9.
(Aire-Nature only): insert new disposable NatureSleep foam
pad.
10.
Replace all covers and zip
closed. Remove CPR panel
and place into pocket provided on side of mattress.
Roll up the mattress from the head end (AC connector end),
squeezing any excess air out as it rolls up.
Secure the mattress with straps.
11.
Note:
mattresses are double-insulated.
No electrical safety tests are required.
12.
Mattress should be packed in
shipping carton with controller on the top.
Box should be marked This End Up to minimize
potential shipping damage. Include
sufficient packing materials to protect mattress from damage.
Preventive
Maintenance on the Aire-2000 Controller
1.
Clean and/or disinfect the controller using a neutral
detergent or a sodium hypochlorite solution (1% bleach).
2.
Examine exterior housing, meter, AC receptacle and manifold
receptacles for physical damage.
Examine manifold for cracked, broken, or loose tubing and
connectors; examine AC cord for cracks or other physical damage.
3.
Remove the filter from the bottom panel of the controller and
clean, or replace, if necessary.
Reinstall the filter.
4.
Remove the CPR panel from an Aire-Nature or Aire-Conforma
mattress that has been tested and shown to be
in working condition. The
AC plug from the mattress should
not be connected to
a power source when testing or using the Aire-2000
controller
module.
Open the cover of the mattress to allow inspection of
individual air cells.
5.
Attach the manifold to the mattress and to the three manifold
connectors on the housing of the controller.
Make sure the mattress-side panel is fully inserted and that
all three
connectors to the
controller are firmly attached.
L connectors on mattress side of
manifold should
point towards the floor.
6.
Plug the AC cord in, and turn on the power switch. Turn the
regulator knob
fully
clockwise so that the meter needle indicates the Fill
position.
7.
Once the mattress has fully inflated, examine the air cells to
ensure even
inflation
throughout the mattress. Turn
the regulator knob counter-clockwise until the
needle is in the Float position.
8.
Sit or lie on the mattress.
Move around, and make sure that the mattress adjusts
itself automatically to any
position change.
9.
Turn the power switch off on the controller unit.
Examine the mattress and make
sure that it maintains inflation even
with the power off.
10.
Remove the manifold panel from
the side of the mattress. Reinstall
CPR panel.
11.
Perform electrical safety test
on the controller unit. Place Preventive
Maintenance
certification stickers on unit housing.
12.
Package the Aire-2000 and the
manifold in the factory shipping carton provided.
Preventive
Maintenance on the Aire-4000 Controller
1.
Clean and/or disinfect the controller using a neutral
detergent or a sodium hypochlorite solution (10% bleach).
2.
Examine exterior housing, meter, AC receptacle and manifold
receptacles for physical damage.
Examine manifold for cracked, broken, or loose tubing and
connectors; examine AC cord for cracks or other physical damage.
3.
Remove the filter from the exterior housing of the controller
and clean, or replace, if necessary.
Reinstall the filter.
4.
Insert four C batteries into the battery
compartment.
5.
Remove the CPR panel from an Aire-Nature or Aire-Conforma
mattress that has been tested and shown to be in working condition.
The AC plug from the mattress should
not be connected to
a power source when testing or using the Aire-4000
controller
module.
Open the cover of the mattress to allow inspection of
individual air cells.
6.
Attach the manifold to the mattress and to the eight manifold
connectors on the housing of the controller, matching the
color of the manifold tube to that of the controller receptacle.
Make sure the mattress-side panel is fully inserted and that
all eight connectors to the controller are firmly attached.
L connectors on mattress side of manifold should
point towards the floor.
7.
Plug in the controller AC cord and turn the power switch on.
Following the
self
diagnostic test, the display will read FLOAT MODE.
8.
