Job Summary:

The primary responsibility for the Account and Lead Generation Representative is to research potential customers nationally and ‘telemarket’ MSD products, potentially setting up accounts within existing territories. Additionally, the Account and Lead Generation Representative will be responsible to provide account clarification (class of trade, business potential, primary and secondary points-of-contact and product needs) of assigned accounts to determine business potential and to set-up accounts when appropriate.

 

Specific Activities:

Call potential OIS customers nationally to introduce MSD/OIS and establish a customer base.

Detail products and services and generate interest for Sales.

Develop product knowledge essential to building customer relationships

Use active listening and sales techniques to identify customer needs and familiarize them with MSD products

Develop and mail, email, and ship sales correspondence, literature, and samples to customers on a timely basis

Enter information into contact management software as required

Develop rapport with potential customers, enhance relationship and business opportunities

Utilize all company and non-company resources to develop lists of potential new customers within the defined open territory

Attend local and national sales training as required

Uncover and present business opportunities for assigned accounts (e.g. existing territories)

Provide account clarification (class of trade, business potential, primary and secondary points-of-contact and product needs) of new accounts

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

BS/BA in Marketing or equivalent experience preferred.

Two years successful sales experience.

Use active listening and sales techniques to identify customer needs and match them with appropriate products

Competitive spirit with a desire to exceed in sales

Knowledge of healthcare industry and distribution services preferred.

Knowledge of current trends in healthcare purchasing, contracting and logistics preferred

Skills:

Detail oriented and strong attention to customer service.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software systems

Excellent problem-solving skills

Some travel required
